Availability Across the BBC News App
Ad Placements 1 ad unit – bottom of the page in both Portrait and Landscape modes.
Dimensions (w x h) 768x90, 800x90 (Portrait), 544x60 and 680x60 (Landscape), 600x60 (Nexus-Portrait). Ideally all sizes should be supplied. Please note that the 600x60 size is for the Nexus 7 tablet and any other 7-inch tablet with a UI resolution of 600 pixels wide.
File Size Max 25kb (portrait), max 20kb (landscape)
Accepted Ad Formats GIF, JPEG, PNG.
Animation Allowed for max 30 seconds, GIF only 3 loops. Video and audio accepted as part of the landing page..
Expanded Size and Rich Media Permitted if creatives are built to Admob specs. Expansion permitted on the landing page to a full page.
Targeting Available Geo IP, site section.
Third-Party Rich Media Any third-party tracking URL accepted. Any 1x1 pixel tracking tag accepted.
Ad Submission Creative must be submitted with a clickthrough URL and must be submitted five working days before campaign start date.

Rich Media
Accepted, as long as the 320x50 banner is following AdMob specs or MRAID 1.0 specs. (Sponsorship 88x31 is image only).
Expanded Size Only expanded on tap/click if expansion is full page and is MRAID or AdMob compliant, or follows normal clicking-through behaviour. No half-expandable or auto-expandable.
Best Practice

Ensure images are mobile web optimised. Do not use Flash assets. Landing pages must be mobile optimised. Use MRAID specifications where appropriate.

Changing connectivity speeds and device variability affect how ad display process is displayed.

For rich media in-app adsm, we support creatives that are compliant with AdMob or MRAID 1.0 specifications. The can be either HTML5 or HTML4.
